Seema Goel responds to my show Chase Scenes #1-58. Will be published in aceartinc.'s annual Paperwait in December.
"Ming Hon's Chase Scenes #1-58 is a visceral performance and cinematic journey which grabs the viewer by the throat and whispers jokes into their ear" - Seema Goel
The body has had enough.
After inhaling 3 doz Timmies Classic Chocolate Dip, lapping up near half a bottle of cheap red nail polish, ripping back a pack and half of king sized red Pall Malls, and having a few, one, two, three, FLoor dranks.........oie. Patricia is maybe only meant to be brought out once a year. Visualeyez Festival of Performance Art presented by Latitude 53 was a tonne of fun. TOdd Janes is a cool host and I Was pleased as Peanut punch to meet all the artists that were performing. Cian Cruise the dedicated observer in our gang wrote this thoughtful rundown here, Read it, please. Kisses to Christian Bujold for these shots during my 4 hour habit.
Onto new things.... after throwing my sins (Energetically transferred onto a ripped hunk of pumpernickle) into Lake Ontario for Yom Kippur with my new collaborator Future Food Studio, THE NEW YEAR IS officially HERE.

Yes. that is the title my new performance.
i'm excited and nervous as shit to perform this new solo at Platform Gallery this friday April 17th. It's an endurance/durational performance from 8-11pm.
i've traded in my Blue Jeans for Brown Furs, so call me a champagne socialist.
There will be fur coats, donuts, scratch lotto tickets, wine&BEER&WHISkY, cigarettes, and obscure references to godard's À bout de souffle (See Title).
If you come watch and can name 3 of them you can win a donut.
The solo is part of a group show called CUT-UP and runs From April 17-May23 - My performance space will live in the Gallery with the results of the night in it as an Installation along with a gorgeous sound/video work by Kelsey Braun, some new stunners by Lisa Stinner-kun, and a cool video work by kristan horton.
The event is FREE and there will be a BAr.
The promo trailer of Forever in Blue Jeans is here! Beautifully Shot and Edited by Kayla Jeanson at Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers Rachel Browne Theatre. Featuring Dancers Kayla Henry, Ali Robson, and Natasha Torres-Garner. they are truly the most fantastical beasts, and i love them forever.
You may ask yourself
'why the horror flick font?'.........
And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack,
And you may find yourself in another part of the world,
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile,
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife,
And you may ask yourself,
Well...How did I get here?
Forever In Blue Jeans is a work that had a freaky beginning. Early In my research with the pennies, the dancers and I conjured up all kinds of weird shit but the spookiest was when We tried performing a penny seance and someone, some spirits, something or other definitely came to visit us. the idea that these copper coins have been handled over and over by different hands and fingers, they act as a conductor transferring energy or past lives of wishing, saving, spending, winning, losing, giving, etc, etc.
There's a whole lot of monsters, demons, and possession in the work too.
Ok! hope you like it!! Bye Bye! xoxo
